Turning Margonese, I really think so - Day Eighteen

To all of you who have stuck with each entry thank you so much.

Although we survived the night in this haunted hotel, DENO HAS BRANDING ON HIM!!!! He woke up just before midnight, felt something on his chest. We turned on the light and saw this!!!

There's actually two areas. That big one on the left and a line to the right of it. The area around them both is red. I'm not even kidding you.

We have no explanation for how this happened.

We heard noises during the night but that's normal isn't it?

Unexplained banging here and there. Just means we didn't know where it was coming from but this is different!! Here's what it looked like 6 hours later when we were up.

I haven't done any editing on these photos apart from cropping the area. This time I've taken from another angle.

The line is on the left and that other symbol thing is on the right. You can't tell from the photos but there are raised welts. Only other explanation is that it was some kind of bug and he had an allergic reaction to it. They are not bedbugs. There's no evidence of bedbugs here unless it was from a previous place and somehow, they eluded me.

It's just weird. Weird, weird, weird.

I also read there is a superstition that if you knock before entering the rooms here, it somehow gives you protection from the ghost or presence. We were wandering the halls looking for the gym when we saw a cabin crew guest going to her room. She KNOCKED on the door, then used her key to get in. Cabin crew especially hate this place because they think it's haunted. But funny to see someone actually doing the thing I had just read about.

To finish off yesterday, after a rest in our room we set out again to try to find the Shrine. We got pretty close before we asked Google Maps to take us and this time, we came in from behind and walked through a cemetery. Probably not the best way after just learning about the haunted hotel stories. These steps led into the cemetery.

You can't really tell but they are very tall steps and it was difficult to go up them.

There's also tons of spiders hanging in the trees either side.

I mean.. spooky!

Apart from the spiders it was really a beautiful place and there were a few people just sitting, contemplating or reading a book.

You can get an idea of how big this is by the people standing to the right of it.

There were coins on those rocks in the middle - that I think is supposed to be a turtle - so we threw some on too. We'd probably appreciate this more if we knew more of the history but it was a very impressive place to walk through. I'm only showing some of the photos. There were lots of things to look at but none of my photos are doing it justice.

After leaving the shrine we walked down the street it's on, that's famous for showcasing the local foods and souvenirs.

Narita has an old world feel to it.

Lots and lots of tourists though but it was like we were all together. We struck up conversations with a few different groups.

Lots of people, including flight staff, have layovers here.

Our hotel is full of flight staff.

Still recapping last night. We went for a drink at this place called "The Barge Inn". Something like that.

We were early, that's why it's relatively early but what a nice place!

And look who ordered a Corona!!!! I was SHOCKED!!! Here's a before and after picture. 😂🤣😂

We will walk the streets again today - we did have the option of going to an outlet mall but - we haven't shopped up till now and I wasn't into it. Oh, I also have to share a couple of pictures we took with the room robes on. It was funny.

Our plane leaves tonight. I hope we sleep. At least there should be no ghosts on the plane. Will be nice to get into our own bed but Nihon I will miss you. Thanks for reading and until next time,
